Shock match Sparks' offer sheet for Kara Braxton

The Detroit Shock announced Friday they have matched the offer sheet Kara Braxton signed with the Los Angeles Sparks. Coach Bill Laimbeer said in a release that Detroit's philosophy "is not to allow other teams to steal our players away with money." Details of the Jackson, Mich., native's contract were not released.
Fever waive F Kristen Mann

The Indiana Fever have waived forward Kristen Mann. The 6-foot-2 Mann was acquired in a trade with Atlanta and scored two points in five games for the Fever last season. She was a former first-round WNBA draft pick of the Minnesota Lynx and went to Atlanta in the league's expansion draft last year.
Parker expecting baby in spring

Candace Parker is expecting her first child this spring, and the WNBA star will keep working out leading to the 2009 season. The announcement was made Wednesday by the University of Tennessee, where Parker starred before going on to the Los Angeles Sparks. Her husband is Shelden Williams of the Sacramento Kings.
Seattle re-signs G Tanisha Wright

The Seattle Storm re-signed guard Tanisha Wright, bringing back the versatile guard that had the best season of her career a year ago. The team did not release terms of the deal announced Wednesday.
