Thrashers Team Report
(Sat, 07 Nov 2009 00:35:35 PST)
Unless the Thrashers learn how to play consistent defense, Philips Arena will remain their not-so-sweet home.
With just one win on home ice this season, coach John Anderson joked that he might soon have to take drastic measures to simulate a road game for his squad, even if it means staying at an Atlanta hotel.
For whatever reason, the Thrashers seem to forget about playing positional defense in their zone when they return to their home arena. And after two straight road victories in Canada, their most recent setback against Columbus is even more disturbing.
When you consider that six of the team's next eight games are at home, it could get worse before it gets better.
