Stars Team Report
(Fri, 19 Mar 2010 02:30:48 PDT)
Steve Ott was understandably pensive about his status with the Stars at the end of February. The trade deadline was near and his contract was up at the end of this season. The feisty center had spent his entire career in Dallas and wasn't anxious to leave.
But the night before the deadline Ott got his deal, a four-year extension to keep him here. The Stars love his moxie, obviously. But they also don't mind when he chips in some offense, as he did plenty last season. And in recent games, Ott has rekindled that offensive touch.
Ott has four goals in his last five games, including two in the Stars' loss to Philadelphia on Thursday night. It didn't hurt that Ott's penchant for aggression was stoked against the always-physical Flyers.
Hartnell lifts Flyers past Stars
(Thu, 18 Mar 2010 21:02:50 PDT)
The pressure is on Philadelphia goalie Brian Boucher. Boucher made 27 saves a few hours after the Flyers learned that top goalie Michael Leighton will be out at least eight weeks because of a high ankle sprain, and Philadelphia rallied to beat the Dallas Stars 3-2 on Thursday night. "It's nice to get an opportunity," Boucher said.

(Tue, 16 Mar 2010 21:45:23 PDT)

Kari Lehtonen made 44 saves in his second start of the season, Mike Ribeiro and Brenden Morrow each scored twice -- including short-handed goals in the third period -- and the Stars boosted their fading playoff chances with an 8-2 rout of the...
