Oilers Team Report
(Fri, 09 Jan 2009 03:13:10 PST)
Oilers defenseman Sheldon Souray was added to the Western Conference All-Star team, setting up a homecoming of sorts with the city of Montreal.
"It's a nice honor for sure, hopefully they forgot my nickname is Lou over there, is in Louuuuuuuuu," joked Souray, who expects to be soundly booed by the fans in Montreal for leaving the team as an unrestricted free agent after seven seasons. "It's nice to be recognized. It's going to be nice to go back there, especially as an Edmonton Oiler, it's a nice little twist."
Souray was added to the All-Star team on the strength of 28 points. His 12 goals are second among NHL defensemen, and he has one of the hardest shots in the league.
"I was a little surprised when I got the call that I was named to the team," he said.
