Ducks Team Report

Mired in last place in the NHL's Western Conference, the Ducks are long past the point of anything resembling a moral victory.
Saturday night's 3-2 loss to the league-leading San Jose Sharks at Honda Center, while close, represented nothing more than another missed opportunity for a team desperately in need of points. The Ducks (7-11-3) have won only four of their last 15 games after opening the season 3-2-1.
"We had our chances," Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf said. "We played really well. For the most part, we were right in there in that hockey game. We were playing a pretty good team, so it's those little mistakes that end up costing you in the end."
Anaheim knows all about that.

NHL reinstates Samueli as owner of Anaheim Ducks

Henry Samueli has been reinstated as owner of the Anaheim Ducks after serving a suspension handed down by the NHL more than a year ago, when he pleaded guilty to a felony count of lying to the Securities and Exchange Commission. NHL commissioner Gary Bettman lifted the ban on Thursday. Samueli's wife Susan also returned to active status as co-owner of the Ducks.
