Ducks Team Report
(Mon, 01 Dec 2008 23:53:32 PST)
Coach Randy Carlyle had no interest in using his team's busy recent schedule as any kind of excuse for Monday night's 2-1 loss at Detroit, or more specifically, for the whopping 47-16 advantage in shots on goal piled up by the Red Wings.
The game was the third in four days for the Ducks, who were coming off a 4-1 victory Sunday at Carolina.
"It's a tough back-to-back, but we're going to play back-to-backs all year," Carlyle said. "We have 18 of them. Thank you, schedule-makers. So we better get used to it."
Detroit's identical 19-5 edge in shots in each of the first two periods was similar to the 17-3 margin the Hurricanes put up in the second period a night earlier.
