Coyotes Team Report

The Coyotes breathed a big sigh of relief when they broke an 0-for-28 power-play drought in a 3-2 win over the Lightning on Thursday night.

Now they are hoping their success carries over Saturday night when the host the Dallas Stars before going on a four-game road trip as they try to maintain their grip on a top-eight spot in the Western Conference.

General Manager Don Maloney, who put together the league's youngest team a season ago and again has first-year players in key spots, believes the second half of the season can be very productive.

"I think we're much better structured for the long haul this year than last year," he said. "We have work to do, but I expect a much better second half than first half."

The Phoenix Coyotes sent goalie Josh Tordjman back to the minor leagues on Thursday, just a day after calling him up from the San Antonio Rampage.
