New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton and his wife have sued the team's former long snapper over a $144,000 investment tied to a now-defunct movie studio. The federal suit filed Monday by Payton and his wife, Elizabeth, is similar to one filed recently by Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey and former defensive lineman Charles Grant against Kevin Houser, now with the Seattle Seahwaks.

The Saints, who have already lost one key starter from a defense that shut down Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning in the final three quarters of Super Bowl XLIV, could lose another one in free agency.
All indications are that the Saints, who lost strong-side linebacker Scott Fujita to the Cleveland Browns last week, want All-Pro free safety Darren Sharper back. But it seems that Sharper is getting a little antsy while waiting for something to get done.
Sharper recently had minor surgery to clean out a knee that swelled up on occasion last season and has not been able to make any free agent visits. But he told the New Orleans Times-Picayune last week that he's ready to make a few potential visits next week when he can move around and get on a plane. ...
