Jaguars Team Report
(Thu, 19 Nov 2009 19:06:53 PST)
The Jaguars figured their home game against Buffalo was money in the bank.
And that was before the Bills fired coach Dick Jauron on Tuesday and elevated Perry Fewell, a former Jaguars assistant coach, to the job.
That may give the Jaguars even more of an edge because a coach leaving in a non-bye week can be a disaster.
San Francisco did it to Mike Nolan last October and the 49ers lost that week to Seattle, 34-13. Bobby Petrino walked out on Atlanta in December 2007 and the Falcons lost to the Bucs, 37-3.
The Jaguars go into this one an 8 1/2 point favorite. But when the Jaguars are big favorites, they're not always reliable. They're 6-12 against the spread when favored by 6.5 points or more under coach Jack Del Rio.
Just two weeks ago, they failed to...

Del Rio: NFL 'book' has changed over years
(Mon, 16 Nov 2009 16:01:57 PST)
Jack Del Rio says the "book" that tells NFL coaches what to do in certain situations is outdated. He believes it has been for a while, too. That's why the Jacksonville Jaguars coach told running back Maurice Jones-Drew to take a knee at the 1-yard line in the final minutes during Sunday's 24-22 win at the New York Jets.
