Antonio Bryant describes himself as an edgy guy who is ultracompetitive. The Cincinnati Bengals are hoping that the seventh-year wideout can give them an edge in what has been a faltering passing game.
The Bengals signed Bryant to a four-year deal worth $28 million in the hopes that he can give the team a deep threat. What Bryant also gives them is a physical receiver who is not afraid to go over the middle to make tough catches and who enjoys contact.
"I'm a little bit more physical than probably what they're used to but you have to have a little bit of that," Bryant said. "I know it's a lot of ins and outs on the offense that I'll be able to do and bring a little more toughness to the game."

He ostensibly replaced Laveranues Coles, who spent the 2009 season with the team, but then was released. "It was definitely a plus to me that this team really seemed to want me," Bryant said in a conference call.
