The San Francisco 49ers have two first-round draft picks this season, and there is a cloud of uncertainty over who will be making those selections.
General manager Scot McCloughan's future with the 49ers is in doubt after reports surfaced that he was likely to part ways with the franchise. The decision appears to be mutual, as McCloughan is reportedly experiencing personal matters.
McCloughan has been the 49ers' top talent evaluator since 2005, when then-coach Mike Nolan hired him as director of player personnel. McCloughan was promoted to general manager in 2008.
Under McCloughan, the 49ers drafted running back Frank Gore in the third round, and first-round picks linebacker Patrick Willis and tight end Vernon Davis.

The 49ers said the surgery, considered minor and done about a week ago, was performed by Dr. Tim McAdams and Dr. Gary Fanton at Stanford Hospitals and Clinics in nearby Redwood City.
