Ohio State's two-game visit to Madison Square Garden was inconsistent to say the least. The Buckeyes' best player, however, has been consistent all season. Evan Turner had 26 points and 14 rebounds, his fourth double-double in as many games, and No. 15 Ohio State beat No. 13 California 76-70 on Friday night in the third-place game of the 2K Sports Classic.
No. 5 Villanova tops No. 18 Dayton 71-65

Corey Fisher claims he never got nervous after No. 5 Villanova nearly gave up an 18-point lead to No. 18 Dayton in the second half. It showed at the free-throw line. Fisher scored 18 points and was perfect in four trips to the foul line in the final minutes to help the Wildcats (4-0) hold on for a 71-65 victory Friday in the second round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Lawal helps No. 21 Ga. Tech top Mason

A friendly rivalry between teammates Gani Lawal and Derrick Favors means trouble for opponents of No. 21 Georgia Tech. The two big men each scored 18 points and added three blocks apiece Friday to lead the Yellow Jackets (2-1) to a 70-62 victory over George Mason on Friday in the consolation round of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Knight to speak at fundraiser in Indy

Bob Knight is returning to Indiana after all. The former Hoosiers coach will speak at a Dec. 17 fundraiser in Indianapolis to benefit the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. The event comes less than six weeks after Knight missed a ceremony inducting him into Indiana University's athletics Hall of Fame in Bloomington.
No. 10 Vols pound East Carolina 105-66

Scott Hopson is making himself right at home outside the 3-point arc. No. 10 Tennessee is making itself at home in the Virgin Islands. Hopson hit four 3-pointers and scored 25 points Friday, and the Volunteers rolled to a 105-66 rout of Easet Carolina in the opening round of the Paradise Jam at the University of Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center.
Louisville hopes not to stumble again

It could overwhelm even the most experienced of teams, but Pitino believed it was a necessary process to prepare the Cardinals for Big East play. Kentucky looks to shore up defense

After watching Sam Houston State's Corey Allmond put on the best 3-point shooting performance in the history of Rupp Arena, Kentucky coach John Calipari figured it was time to appeal to a higher power. "I just called the (NCAA) rules committee and asked them to move the (3-point) line back," Calipari said.
Smith's 16 and 11 powers NC State

Tracy Smith had 16 points and 11 rebounds as North Carolina State beat Akron 66-45 at the Glenn Wilkes Classic on Friday. Dennis Horner also scored 16 points for the Wolfpack (2-0), who took control early and built a 43-21 halftime lead. The Zips (0-2) got 10 points from Anthony Hitchens. Horner had five points, including a 3, and C.J.
No. 1 Kansas scores 23 straight in rout

The wake-up call over, Kansas is back to rolling. Tyrel Reed hit four 3-pointers for 12 points and No. 1 Kansas scored 23 straight points in the first half to overwhelm Central Arkansas 94-44 Thursday night. Coming off a tight victory over Memphis two days earlier, Kansas (3-0) dismantled Central Arkansas from the start.
