Nuggets Team Report
(Sat, 21 Nov 2009 01:36:29 PST)
The Nuggets have been seeing the Lakers, Cleveland, Boston and Orlando being named regularly as among the top teams in the league.
Guard Chauncey Billups has a message: Include the Nuggets in that list.
"We feel like we are," Billups said when asked if the Nuggets are an elite team.
Nevertheless, despite an 8-4 start, the Nuggets feel as if they are being overlooked. After all, they advanced to the Western Conference final last spring and gave the Lakers a much tougher battle (a 4-2 loss) than Orlando did in the NBA Finals (a 4-1 loss). And that is despite walloping the Lakers 105-79 on Nov. 13.
"Definitely," said guard J.R. Smith, agreeing with Billups that Denver is an elite team.

(Wed, 18 Nov 2009 13:40:58 PST)
The Denver Nuggets say Chris "Birdman" Andersen is day-to-day with moderate patellar tendinitis in his right knee. Anderson has been sore, so he underwent an MRI on Wednesday in Denver, and Dr. Steve Traina said the test revealed no structural damage. Also, guard Anthony Carter is listed as questionable for the Nuggets' game Friday night against the Clippers in Los Angeles.
Rookie Lawson adjusts to NBA faster than expected
(Mon, 16 Nov 2009 11:59:36 PST)
Everybody knew about Ty Lawson's speed at North Carolina. Just as impressive is how quickly the Denver Nuggets' new backup point guard is adjusting to the NBA. Fellow Tar Heels alum and Nuggets coach George Karl has notoriously had little use for rookies, but he's making an exception for this exceptional player, saying even he didn't expect this smooth of a transition.

Nuggets serve early notice that they're contenders
(Sat, 14 Nov 2009 11:02:13 PST)
The Denver Nuggets served notice on two fronts with their dismantling of the Los Angeles Lakers: Last year was no fluke and this year they're legit. The Nuggets (7-3), overlooked by prognosticators after everybody else in the West seemed to sign a superstar over the summer, whipped the Pau Gasol-less Lakers 105-79 Friday night.

(Fri, 13 Nov 2009 19:15:47 PST)
Backup point guard Anthony Carter of the Denver Nuggets is unavailable for tonight's game against the Los Angeles Lakers because of a strained left hip. Carter's injury is chronic and it flares up from time to time. He'll receive treatment over the weekend and is listed day to day. He is averaging 3 points and 2.1 assists over 17.1 minutes in relief of starter Chauncey Billups.
