Mike D'Antoni has had plenty of reasons to bristle at media suggestions over his first two seasons here in New York. Another one came up before Sunday's game against the Houston Rockets, when former Knicks lottery pick Jordan Hill would make his Garden return after being traded as part of the blockbuster deal that brought Tracy McGrady to the Knicks and wiped $9.5 million in additional space off the 2010 salary cap.
It began with an innocuous comment from Hill in the Houston Chronicle, in which Hill said the reason he didn't get regular minutes with the Knicks was because D'Antoni "relies on veterans more than rookies". That somehow transformed into Hill saying his former coach doesn't like to play rookies.
And that got D'Antoni fired up.

The Knicks announced the All-Star center was out minutes before the start of the game.
