Knicks Team Report
(Sat, 21 Nov 2009 01:36:29 PST)
The Knicks were looking for answers, so they were strongly considering turning to The Answer.
Team president Donnie Walsh confirmed this week that the team was mulling a decision to sign Allen Iverson, who was placed on waivers by the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday. Walsh said the option was under consideration mainly because of the Knicks' franchise-worst 1-9 start.
Friday, however, the team announced that it would not sign Iverson after all. The reason: He would have taken away playing time from younger players who need to develop.
Signing Iverson was one of the few options the Knicks have had to improve the roster this season that doesn't impact the all-important bottom line in 2010.

Knicks' Answer: No to Allen Iverson
(Fri, 20 Nov 2009 10:32:06 PST)
The New York Knicks won't sign Allen Iverson, believing any short-term gain would hinder their plans to build for the future. Team president Donnie Walsh said Friday the team won't make any additions at this time despite its 2-9 record. He added the decision to pass on the former MVP had nothing to do with Iverson's ability to play or his character in the locker room.

Both Iverson and the Knicks deserve better
(Thu, 19 Nov 2009 17:26:58 PST)
It's painfully clear to everyone but the management of the New York Knicks that there's only one question to which Allen Iverson remains "The Answer." That is: "What could be worse than spending 40 years in the NBA wilderness with Isiah Thomas, Larry Brown and Stephon Marbury?" So let's be clear: Iverson and the Knicks deserve better than what they're going to...

(Wed, 11 Nov 2009 00:25:47 PST)
Eddy Curry has been on the court for all of 12 minutes of the New York Knicks' last 90 games, so nobody is calling him the team's savior. This season, he might be the closest thing. A noticeably slimmer and much healthier Curry practiced for the first time this season Tuesday, joining a team that desperately needs some low-post scoring while its perimeter shooters continue to misfire.
